At the International String Festival Guarneri they can participate:

Students of the primary and secondary music school and students of Academy of Music, who studing violin, viola, cello and double bass. All candidates are obliged to submit a proof of education of the Music school and Academy of Music class that they attend by email or post. Address details are available on the website of Guarneri Festival.

DISCIPLINES: Students compete in four disciplines: VIOLIN, VIOLA, CHELLO and DOUBLE BAS.

GRADES: The competition is based on grades and divided into two stages. The first stage is solo performance. The second stage is performed with Chamber Orchestra. In every disciple candidates compete within grades and respectful instrument instruments following the Guarneri Festival program:

Preparatory grade (PMS)

First stage:

Two compositions by the free choice or two compositions of different epochs by candidate's choice (for up to 5 minutes)

First Grade (PMS)

ASSESSMENT: Professors who’s candidates performed at the Guarner Fest can attend the discussion after candidates assessment.

The jury will evaluate the candidates in the following way:

FIRST STAGE:

  • The first prize can be awarded if the contestant earns at least 95 out of 100 points
  • The second prize can be awarded if the contestant earns at least 90 to 94.99 points
  • The third prize can be awarded if the competitor earns at least 85 to 89.99 points
  • The commendation can be awarded if the competitor earns at least 75-84,99 points.

In the second stage and performance with the orchestra pass candidates who won 100 points in the first stage. The Jury can decide, if there is no candidate with the maximum number of points scored (100) in the second stage, the next candidate with the highest number of points can pass.

The jury for each class determines the first prize (Winner of the Grade).

If two candidates have the same number of points, the prize goes to the younger candidate.

SECOND STAGE:

In the second stage, the Jury awards points as in the First stage.

  • The first prize can be awarded if the contestant earns at least 95 out of 100 points
  • The second prize can be awarded if the contestant earns at least 90 to 94.99 points
  • The third prize can be awarded if the competitor earns at least 85 to 89.99 points
  • The commendation can be awarded if the competitor earns at least 75-84,99 points.

After the completion of the second stage, the Jury announces the Laureate of the Festival. The jury has the right to award the „Absolute Laureate of the Festival“ award.

The decision of the jury is final and irrevocable.

Each Candidate participating in the Competition has the opportunity to hire the accompanist of the Festival.

It is necessary that the Candidate state that he or she needs an accompanist when completing the application for the Guarneri Fest.

The organizers of the Festival are obliged to provide accompanists on the cost of the candidates.

The candidate is obliged to music sheets for the accompanist with the application for Guarneri Fest.

Other awards:

At the Festival, the jury may declare and award a prize for:

  • The most successful pedagogue of the Festival
  • Best accompanist of the Festival
